now that time is no longer my main taskmaster (relatively speaking), i find myself slipping into that old comfortable habit of slacking off. ironically enough, despite the lack of an overriding motivation to accomplish anything i don’t really seem to get that much sleep these days. no matter how late (or how early, depending on your viewpoint) i drop off to sleep — 3:30 to 5:00 am — i still wake up around 10:00am, with this inexplicable urge to bolt from my bed, hit the shower, and be someplace else.
i guess it has become an ingrained habit.
well, moving along… these days i mostly stay up late watching animes, movies and tv series (hah, now there’s a big surprise) that i’ve always wanted to watch but couldn’t find the time to do. this past week i’ve been soaking myself in 24 (i’m done with ssn 1, 2, and 6, courtesy of Pseudoshrink). yep, it’s that engrossing. as implausible and ridiculously far-fetched as Jack Bauer’s exploits are, you gotta admit 24 is one hell of an entertaining series, with plenty of chill-inducing cliffhangers and incredible action scenes. and then, there’s Third Rock from the Sun, which is quite a blast to say the least. for physical comedy, John Lithgow is my main man.
for variety, i have also dug deep into my anime files, and just finished Alice Gakuen (aka Alice Academy), a typical fare of the fantasy/magical girl anime genre. I even watched Azumanga Daioh (a classic) again.
of course, if all else fails there is always the upcoming Harry Potter book 7 to look forward to. And HP: Order of the Phoenix tomorrow.
With no job to speak of and really nothing regular to do, I’m surprised I don’t sleep either! Time just flits away in the afternoons and I’m more alive at night.
Posted by Celle at July 10, 2007, 10:02 amThis is the best time to take charge and find out what you really want. Who knows? Another anime creator or an actor? hehehe
Take it easy man! I’ll dedicate one shot for you tonight! Cheers.
Since you’re free, you’ll have more time in your hands now.. Try watching anime @ crunchyroll, just be careful of being bandwidth full
I have a pre-lim exam tomorrow but who cares, as soon as I pen the last answer off to Trinoma I go to catch HP: Order of the Phoenix
pseudoshrink, you could almost say i’m emancipated. i’m still reviewing my options. nothing’s final yet, but let’s see how it goes…
celle, i’ve always been a night owl. i guess we creatures of the night just like the idea of marching to a different drumbeat
yeah, bottoms up alvin. thanks for the thought. it’s amazing just how many implausible career moves you can think of when you’re a jobless bum heheh.
hey thanks for the tip kai. will check crunchyroll soon. good luck on your exam. i expect HP fans will fill up the theaters to the rafters to watch OOP today.
to all: any SPOILERs re OOP and Deathly Hallows are welcome. just mark them with asterisks (*) to warn those who prefer not to know…
Posted by onyxx at July 11, 2007, 1:29 pmMy friend who lives in Paris just called me and she has given me a confirmation that Harry will die on the last book… Oops….
in case harry gets the axe, i don’t suppose it’ll be much of a surprise because lots of folks have been speculating about this for years. i think the real Q is, who’s the other one?
so who’s the source? not gabriel? — the guy who claimed to have hacked into a Bloomsbury employee’s PC but has so far not revealed about what he knew…
btw, i’m not sure why but i found OOP (the movie) somewhat disappointing. it’s ok, but i won’t be tempted to watch it again
