wall-e finally lands…

after weeks of interminable waiting, Wall-E was finally shown in local theaters. in this case, i guess you can say, better late than never.

Wall-E may not be as bombastic as some of its brethren in Pixar Animation Studio’s backyard, but it has an underlying charm that tugs at your heart. if i have to come up with a single word to describe it, i would choose “heartwarming,” which is perhaps not the first word that you would use for a movie with a couple of robots as its lead players. but in may ways, Wall-E — with all his clunky and endearing gawkiness — is as charismatic and mesmerizing as some of the biggest stars we have today.

i won’t even attempt a review or a summary here (it’s way too late for that), and i know it’s been showing for 2 weeks already, but if you have the time and the tinclination to watch a good movie, go see Wall-E today

i am currenly making a tentative list of my 10 favorite films of the year. it’s rapidly filling up (i have already listed about 6 or 7) and i’m reserving a few places because there are are still 4 months left, but you can be sure that Wall-E’s on it.
